Introduction

Although the number of organization for/of the disabled are currently increasing awareness on disability is still very low. ‘Yangon Disabled Resource Centre’ (YDRC) is started by ‘Eden Centre for Disabled Children(ECDC)’to promote disability awareness, to disseminate disability related knowledge, to establish net work among disabled organizations and to empower PWD as much as possible.

Objectives

1. To make disabled related resources available such as book, media material, information, mobility devices, etc.
2. To promote disability awareness through various ways and means among disabled people and the public.
3. To create information net work among disabled related oraganizations.
4. To provide a venue for disabled people where they can get together and talk together or open their office.
5. To promote collaboration and Co-operation among disabled related Organizations.

Services

1. Library service.
2. Organization disability awareness training for disabled people, volunteers and those who are working in disability and development related fields.
3. Provide rehabilitation therapeutic services.
4. Experience sharing among different types of disabilities.
5. Help disabled individual to get mobility devices which they need.
6. Provide counselling.
7. Computer,e-mail and internet services for disabled people and their organizations.
8. Organize talk, seminar, workshop on disabled related subject.
9. Disseminate disabled related literature and other documents.
10. Sharing disabled related information.
