i. Assessment and Evaluation

Care Giver Training
In order to give the quality services to our disabled children they
need to go through an assessment by professional and expert staff and
the treatment plan was made for individually and regular evaluation was
done by the staff as well. According to the last eight years experiences
most of our students are not referred properly. They came by their own
accord, as they got the information about the centre through individual
contact with our current clients and other sources.
ii. Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy service is one of the main services at the centre. This
service is provided by four qualified physiotherapist and two therapy
aids at the present. Basic exercise therapy and how to handle the child
at home are trained to the family members or care givers by the
therapist as it is needed.
iii. Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy room was started at the centre in late 2003. To
find a qualified Occupational Therapist is impossible at the present and
we have assigned a Physiotherapist to work in the Occupational Therapy
room.
iv. Hydrotherapy

Hydrotherapy
Hydrotherapy service for disabled children was started at Eden centre
since October 2005.
v. Special Education

Special Education Service
Intellectual impaired children are receiving special education at the
centre by our well experienced teaching staffs. They are working under
the close supervision of qualified teachers and experienced staff. More
than 60 disabled children are receiving this service.
vi. Computer Class for Disabled Children

Computer Class
The centre has started computer classes for disabled children in 2002
to reinforce the lessons learnt from the classes.
vii. Transportation Service

Transportation Service
Transportation service was rendered to 55% of our day care students.
The other 45% come to the centre by their own means.
viii. Dietary Supplementary

Dietary Supplementary
To meet the diet need for every child dietary supplements were
provided to not only the disabled children but also the care giver as
well. Some fruits in the morning, lunch at noon and cold drink and snack
at afternoon.
ix. Basic Medical Care
Basic medical care is provided by our volunteer Pediatrician once a
week to all the children. The medicine needs are donated by some local
organizations and private donors.
x. Early Intervention Program (EIP)

Early Intervention Program
Starting from 2007 academic year the centre has started Early
Intervention Program (EIP) at in 2007 seven children are receiving the
service. This is to assess the disability of the children in early state
and give proper treatment as soon as possible.
xi. Care Giver Training
Most of the family members have not enough knowledge in how to take
care of their disabled child properly, the centre are rendering care
giver training to every parent as it is needed.

Sharing the views |
Through this service the centre is helping family members and
relatives to lighten the burden of a disabled child and disseminating
knowledge on disability as needed.
