Obj. For Eden to be a benchmark centre and leading resource for people with disabilities, through extensive and sustainable operations
Rationale Eden needs to maintain a motivated, caring and professional workforce to deliver its quality services, from recruitment to retirement. Various training needs have been identified through SWOT and Training Needs exercises including strengthening management and leadership, teaching and therapy techniques, language and IT. To maximise performance and improvement Eden is looking to strengthen both its direct service provision and back office operations, a full evaluation of day care services, improvements to teaching and therapy services, revising HR, finance, procedures, reviewing current governance arrangements. These activities ensure Eden is ‘fit for purpose’ and delivers results.
Eden needs to strengthen its evidence base through research and evaluations. This will not only strengthen and give direction to what we do, but also provide donors with the justification they need to fund our proposals. There is a need for more case studies to demonstrate our success. With a reliance on short term donor funding, Eden needs to widen its funding base. Better projection of funding requirements and planning are required to increase long term sustainability. Only limited funds from parents are available and therefore new corporate sources should be identified, alongside more traditional development partner/donor funds
